Hilary Schenker

Hilary Schenker is a landscape painter working primarily in oil. She came to painting from illustration, where she founded and managed her own design studio with clients including Random House and Sierra Club. But in 2019, the pandemic led her to acceptance of her true passion, fine art. In 2017, she was selected as a Flight School Fellow through the Heinz Endowments, and she is a current member of numerous juried art associations across the East Coast. Schenker’s work has been shown at galleries including PxP Contemporary, Willow Street Gallery, and Robert Morris Gallery. In 2025, she was awarded Honorable Mention at the Hill Center DC Galleries Regional Exhibition. After growing up in California and living for decades in New York City, NY and then Pittsburgh, PA, she now calls DC home. Schenker lives in Takoma Park, MD with her husband and daughters, and maintains a studio at DC Arts Studios. www.hilaryschenker.com.
