About Ch/Art

Ch/Art (pronounced “chart”) is a 501c(3) registered nonprofit community arts organization serving Chevy Chase, D.C. and Maryland. Ch/Art was founded in 2018 by a small group of artists who wanted to create a supportive community to collaborate, grow their art, and share their work. Alongside this, the group sought to develop new opportunities for the community to access art and engage in art making.

Annually Ch/Art produces a very successful Art Walk of local artists’ homes and studios, participates in the Chevy Chase Day, holds exhibitions in local venues or online, and has monthly member meetings—often with intriguing speakers. Our tax ID # is 83-3272999.

Mission Statement

To promote and enhance access to and appreciation of the visual arts for all the community;

To promote education in the visual arts;

To create opportunities for people of all ages, artistic abilities, and economic status in the community to experience and participate in the artistic process;

And to build and strengthen community through the visual arts.

What We Do

Provide support…

for a growing community of local artists by offering opportunities for artists to collaborate, develop new skills, exhibit their work, and raise their visibility.

Organize exhibits…

and an annual community art walk that support greater access to the visual arts and dialogue between artists and community members about art and art-making.

Develop opportunities…

for community members to learn about the visual arts and engage in art-making. We sponsor artist talks, hands on workshops, community events, and an Open Studio available to the community at the Chevy Chase Community Center.
