Veronique Legot Marchand

Véronique Marchand’s work is an ongoing inquiry into color and texture. Blue is her primary language, not a single blue, but all its variations, from the palest tones to the deepest. She is drawn to its emotional range and its capacity to carry both stillness and intensity within the same plane.

Texture is where her practice finds its depth. She works through assemblage, gathering materials that each carry their own history: reclaimed wood, found natural fragments, wax, photographic impressions, and metal leaf. These are not new materials, they are recovered ones, chosen for the traces they already hold. Layered and transformed, they form surfaces that accumulate gesture and time. Texture here is not decorative. It is a record.

Her assemblages bring together cyanotype, encaustic wax, and gold leaf on wood, canvas, and reclaimed natural materials. The encounter between these elements, their resistance, their weight, their light, is where the work begins to speak.
