Vivian Cavalieri
Vivian Cavalieri creates small-scale, three-dimensional assemblages that compress complex social issues—including immigration, environmental change, and historical memory—into intimate, carefully staged scenes. Using miniatures, textiles, and found objects, she constructs highly ordered compositions that reward close looking and invite reflection.
Her work contrasts scale and subject, pairing the delicacy of small, crafted environments with the weight of global and historical concerns, drawing viewers in while prompting reflection on justice and responsibility.
She began exhibiting in 2022 and has since presented two solo exhibitions, including From War to Peace: World War II Opportunity, Postwar Domesticity, presented at the Military Women’s Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. Her work has been shown throughout the US and abroad, including in an international traveling exhibition. She is represented by Collective Z, New York City, NY, and Hambly & Hambly, Northern Ireland, UK.
