Carol Samour

Carol @inspiredbythebead is a collector of BEADS and primarily creates, designs and strings art to wear jewelry with globally sourced Beads acquired from around the world. Her work has been exhibited and sold in many area shows including the Creative Crafts Council Biennial, the Pleiades Exhibit and Sale and the JRACRAFT Day (James Renwick Alliance).

Samour, having been a practicing fine art black/white photographer along with working in 19th century photographic processes turned her attention to the colorful world of BEADS. After taking a workshop on how to string BEADS she immediately joined the Bead Society of GreaterWashington (BSGW). Being an ethnically oriented society she immersed herself in the design of ethnic necklaces but found herself not wanting to be confined to just this area of design but gradually found herself obsessed with contemporary, statement oriented large necklaces. She belongs to the Chevy Chase Artists and the Washington Guild of Goldsmiths. She lives in Washington Grove, MD with her husband and cat, Mr. Peabody.
