Ulrike Kaiser
Ulrike Kaiser is an Austrian abstract oil painter who has lived and worked in Washington, DC since 2010. Known for her atmospheric, elemental paintings, her work is inspired by the shifting relationships between sea and sky. She creates abstract interpretations of nature with a glossy, luminous finish, shaped by observation and memory. Drawing from the Chesapeake Bay, the American East Coast, the Mediterranean, and travels to Le Marche, the Austrian lakes, and Brittany, her paintings evoke a strong sense of place.
Kaiser began painting in her early 20s and held her first solo exhibition in Vienna in 2005, followed by shows in Vienna and Prague before moving to the US. From 2010 to 2013, she studied at the Corcoran College of Art and Design, receiving the Linda and Douglas Rosenbaum Scholarship and her certificate. Her style evolved from figurative beginnings to abstract compositions exploring balance in nature. She exhibits widely and works from her home studio creating immersive paintings that transform memory and emotion.
