Mark Leatherman

Mark Leatherman found his calling in teaching Earth & Space Science to 8th graders in Montgomery County Public Schools. He taught the science of geology, meteorology, climate change, astronomy and environmental issues; and he continues to learn in those areas for his own satisfaction.

After retiring in 2015, he wove his own passion for natural beauty into the art and craft of photography. He was mentored especially by Andy Cook of Rocky Mountain Reflections Photography, along with other professional photographers. He has had solo exhibitions of his images at National United Methodist Church, Friendship Heights Village Center, River Road UUC, Politics & Prose, and other locations.
