Heather Paul
Heather Paul is a full-time painter who transitioned to art after a distinguished career in nonprofit leadership in Washington, DC and New York City, NY. She holds a PhD in American Studies, and spent three years in the Philippines teaching, studying art, and assisting in anthropological fieldwork. Heather’s eclectic interests shape her style with acrylics on canvas, board or paper and her love of the rich texturing properties of impasto. Her influences are broad: the Post Impressionists, Bonnard and Vuillard, the classic Japanese printmakers and Folk or Outsider Art. Always interested in the narrative, Heather likes to depict enough representation so that viewers can construct their own story of time, place and circumstance. Instagram:@heatherpaulart
