Carol Newmyer
Carol Newmyer is a bronze, figurative sculptor and wearable-art designer celebrating her 48th year with Zenith Gallery in Washington, DC. She is a fifth generation Washingtonian and has shown her work nationally and internationally since getting her BFA in Sculpture from the University of Georgia in 1977. Many of her pieces are moveable, interactive, and cast through the lost wax method.
She apprenticed with Margery Goldberg and helped form the artists community “Zenith Square”. Her work was featued in The Washington Post with Nina Hyde and Mark Jenkins and The Washington Times. She was Interviewed on TV with Maury Povitch/“Panorama” and Rene Poissant. Recently she was interviewed for “Voice of America".
Her work was published in “100 Artists of the Mid-Atlantic” (Schiffer)
