Susan Dankoff

Susan Dankoff grew up in a family studded with artists and developed a love of art at a young age. While building a family and a successful career in nonprofit fundraising, she was drawn back to the visual arts.

Dankoff began studying art as an adult by drawing and painting figures, still life, and landscapes at The Yellow Barn Studio. Subsequent workshops in color theory and mixed media, however, led her to abstract painting and a discovery of an inner joy! Having found her niche, she began to develop her individual voice through abstract painting courses at the Washington Studio School, Montgomery College, and The Art League.

Today, Susan’s vibrant works merge her art education and heritage with a passion for painting that deeply resonates with art lovers. She was awarded an Honorable Mention in her first juried art show: The Washington Post’s print and online exhibit, “Best Art Created by Readers During the Pandemic” (July 2020). Her paintings have been exhibited more recently by Ch/Art and The Yellow Barn Studio and Gallery.
