Sardar Aziz

After a career as a media entrepreneur, film editor, and advertising creator, Sardar Aziz returned to his first passion—painting—in 2016. An impressionist figurative painter based in the Washington, DC and Maryland region for more than two decades, Aziz draws on his background in fine arts, photography, design, and filmmaking to create cinematic compositions filled with movement, atmosphere, and expressive brushwork.

His work has received Best in Show at the Torpedo Factory, Alexandria, VA and has been shown in Takoma Park and Baltimore, MD, Artomatic, Art All Night, and Paint to Music events. Aziz has presented paintings in galleries and institutions across several US states.

His subjects range from rhythmic dancers to evolving landscapes of the Washington, DC skyline—capturing both motion and transformation. He is currently developing a new body of work examining contemporary social and geopolitical themes. His paintings and public murals have earned awards and recognition from institutions including Howard University and The Washington Times.
