Carrie Baroody

Carrie Baroody appreciates both simplicity and the unexpected. She is drawn to steel objects that are out of the ordinary. Carrie enjoys creating metal sculptures that appear to have life, including flowers and creatures intended to make people pause and smile. Carrie does not set out to make these individual creations. Each is inspired by the steel pieces she finds, seemingly assembling themselves in just the right combination. This often happens at the estate sale, antique/junk shop, or bins of drops at the steel yard.

Carrie appreciates that many people who see her work for the first time enjoy the playfulness, unusual composition and humor of the pieces. The materials and form of her sculptures are often in contrast - angels made from machine tools, animals from antique garden scissors, flowers from gears, etc. Each piece is unique and has a raw, industrial vibe, yet is refined enough to be on display in a well appointed home or garden.
