Finding Joy

Juried Art Exhibition

Ch/Art (Chevy Chase Art) is thrilled to announce the opening of its upcoming juried art exhibition, "Finding Joy,” on December 7 at the Friendship Heights Village Center in Chevy Chase, MD. Juror Jordan Bruns, a renowned local painter and teacher, will craft an exhibition of original artwork that evokes a feeling of joy. The show will feature more than 75 pieces of abstract and traditional paintings, sculpture, photography, ceramics and jewelry created by the talented members of Ch/Art.

Location: The Friendship Heights Village Center, 4433 S. Park Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD

Dates: December 8, 2025 through January 31, 2026 

Hours: 9:00 am - 9:00 pm Monday through Friday and from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm Saturday and Sunday (Please call ahead to make sure the exhibition is available for public viewing, as the room may be in use. 301-656-2797)

Opening Reception: December 11, 2025, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm

Artist Talk: January 18, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm

Please join us for this can't-miss opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation for the art featured at Ch/Art's Finding Joy exhibition! 

Artists Renee Sandell, Kanika Sircar, and Sally O'Connell will share insights into their technique, creative process, and sources of inspiration. In addition to hearing from the artists, there will be opportunities for attendees to participate! If you are able, please bring a thin-tipped black permanent marker for this interactive portion of the event.

Juror: Jordan Bruns - J. Jordan Bruns lives and works in the Washington, DC area and has been the resident artist in the Chautauqua Tower at Glen Echo Park, Maryland for ten years. In 2004, he received BFAs in Painting and Illustration at Maryland Institute College of Art. He then went on to earn an MFA in Studio Painting at Indiana University in 2007. He currently manages and teaches  at  Glen  Echo  Park  in  the Chautauqua Tower (a.k.a. The Stone Tower) where his studio also located. His work is in the public collections of Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Kaiser Permanente solo exhibitions include Long View Gallery (Washington, DC) and The Indiana University Art Museum (Bloomington, Indiana). His numerous group shows include “Transient Geometries” at The Antelope Valley College Art Gallery (Lancaster, California) and “Color Schooled” (Long View Gallery, Washington, DC). His work has also been exhibited in Scope Miami in 2014, Context Miami in 2017 & 2018 as well as Aqua Miami in 2019 all during Art Basel Miami. He is represented by Alida Anderson Art Projects (Potomac, MD) and his work can be seen weekends at the Stone Tower at Glen Echo Park.
