Ch/Art Fest 2026
Announcement of Ch/Art Fest 2026
We are delighted to announce that Ch/Art’s annual spring Ch/Art Fest will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the parking lot of the PNC Bank, 5530 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C. The rain date is Sunday, May 3. There will be a fee of $25 to participate in the show. Participation is open on a first-come, first-serve basis to all Ch/Art members who have paid their dues for 2026. Twenty-six 10 x 10 spaces are available. Participants can share a space.
Participants will need to supply their own tents, with weights (20 pounds/leg), and their own tables and display equipment. Set up will start at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the show. Participants can drive into the show area to unload, but must move their cars once unloaded to a neighborhood spot.
Publicity will include (1) posting signage in neighborhood businesses, community bulletin boards and designated outdoor locations, (2) promotion on social media platforms, (3) outreach to local listservs and community email newsletters, (4) distribution of press releases to local media outlets, and (5) flyer distribution at nearby farmers markets and community events. We encourage participants to send emails to their customers notifying them about the show. We hope to have live music, children’s crafts, and a food truck.
We will need volunteers to help with publicity, particularly posting signs in neighborhood stores and outdoors two weeks prior to the show and distributing flyers at farmers markets and community events. On show day, we will need volunteers to hand-out flyers on Connecticut Avenue, greet customers, “booth sit” for show participants for restroom breaks, and help with the set-up and break-down of tents. These volunteer tasks can fulfill some of the annual volunteer hour requirements for Ch/Art members.
The co-chairs for the show are Cara Jablon (rcjablon@aol.com, 202-333-5332 (home), 202-669-5322 (cell)) and Karim Bouabdelli (karimdell64@gmail.com, 202-297-3580).
Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will close when tent space is at capacity or on April 1, 2026, whichever comes first.
We look forward to your participation in the show.
