Margaret Hahn
After retiring in 2016 from a career in professional Theater and Arts Management, Margaret Rose Hahn began pursuing a long-held desire to follow in her father’s footsteps (a professional architect and watercolorist) by learning how to draw. She began studying drawing in 2018 at the Yellow Barn Studio learning basic drawing techniques with graphite pencils and charcoal rendering a variety of subjects. In 2020, inspired by botanical artist and illustrator Wendy Hollander, she began drawing botanical subjects with colored pencils and watercolor pencils. She continues to study in person and online with Wendy Hollander at Draw Botanical as well as British botanical portrait artist, Ann Swan.
She is a member or the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA) and its local chapter, The Botanical Art Society of the National Capital Region (BANSCR). She has participated in the annual Ch/Art Art Walk since 2023 and you can visit her studio at this year’s Ch/Art Walk in October 2026. Her work is online at margaretrosehahn.com.
